Privacy Policy
Effective September 25, 2026
This policy explains how California Earrings handles information when you browse our website, submit a wholesale order request, or contact us.
Information we collect and use
We collect the details you provide, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, shipping address, order items, and notes. We use this information to respond to inquiries, process order requests, communicate with you, and maintain business records. Our hosting and security services may also process technical information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to operate the website and prevent abuse.
Cookies and analytics
We use a cookie that can remain for up to 30 days to remember your cart and support checkout. A separate first-party analytics cookie expires when your browser session ends. We also use browser storage to remember the position of the WhatsApp contact button. You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings; doing so may clear your cart or preferences.
When enabled, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall website usage and page performance, such as page visits, referral sources, approximate location, and device types. Cloudflare says this service does not use analytics cookies, browser storage, or personal data to measure visitors. Learn more in Cloudflare's Web Analytics information.
Our internal site analytics records page views and clicks to understand how visitors move through the site. It uses a random identifier that lasts for the browser session; our database stores a one-way hash of that identifier with the page path and a limited click destination, such as an internal page or an external service. For attribution, page views may also include the external referrer hostname and selected campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign). The internal event table omits all other query parameters, including search terms and ad click IDs, and excludes the referrer path. On checkout, it records visible time spent on the page and which approved fields were non-empty, but never the values entered. Separately, it stores daily counts of successful and not-found HTML page requests by path and status, without a session identifier. These records do not include IP addresses, browser details, form contents, or full external URLs. The random identifier is pseudonymous and links events from the same browser session.
We provide a publicly accessible analytics dashboard at /admin/analytics for sharing site performance. It displays aggregate counts and grouped breakdowns only; it does not show session identifiers or individual page-by-page journeys. Anyone with the dashboard link can view those aggregate reports.
On our trade-show connect page, we count page visits and taps on contact, social, and catalog links by trade show. These are aggregate counts; we do not store names, contact details, or device identifiers in these counts.
Service providers and external services
We use service providers for website hosting, data storage, email delivery, and analytics. Information needed to provide these services may be processed by those providers. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect our business and customers.
Our website includes Google Maps and may offer Google address suggestions at checkout. These features connect to Google and may allow Google to receive technical information and information you enter into the address feature, subject to Google's privacy policy. Links to WhatsApp, social media, and other websites are governed by those services' privacy policies. Third-party services may use their own cookies or tracking technologies. Our website does not change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals.
Retention and your choices
We retain information as needed to handle orders and inquiries, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. Some records may need to be retained for business or legal reasons.
